Because every golden goddess knows, the perfect tan begins before the glow.
1. Polish & Prime
Gently exfoliate and remove any old tan at least four hours before your appointment to create the perfect base.
Shower Option
Use an oil-free body exfoliant or tan eraser with a professional exfoliating mitt, applying in circular motions. Pay extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.
Bathtub Ritual (Our Favourite)
Soak in a warm bath for 10+ minutes with Epsom salts or a tan remover bath bomb (sold in studio) for enhanced softness. Then, exfoliate using a mitt or soft cloth to buff away dead skin and reveal silky, radiant skin beneath.
Luxe Tip: Elevate your prep with dry body brushing before bathing. This stimulates circulation and gently lifts dry skin — perfect for hands, elbows, knees, and ankles.
2. Shower Smart
Shower at least 4 hours before your appointment to allow your pores time to close and prevent uneven absorption.
Elite Tip: Finish your shower with 30 seconds of cold water to help tighten pores and improve your skin’s receptiveness to the tanning formula. Bonus — hello, cold therapy glow!
3. Bare is Best
Arrive with clean, product-free skin — no moisturisers, makeup, perfume or deodorant. These can act as barriers and affect your tan’s evenness and longevity.
Pro Tip: Avoid skincare containing retinoids or hydroxy acids 24 hours before your session, as they increase skin turnover and may shorten your tan’s lifespan.
Don’t worry — if you need to arrive with makeup or deodorant, we’ve got you. Complimentary cleansing wipes are available before your appointment.
4. Dress for Glow Success
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. Think breezy dresses, relaxed tees and wide-leg pants — avoid tight seams or waistbands that may rub and leave marks.
Choose thongs or slides for footwear.
Clear tanning formula? No need to wear dark clothing.
Pro Tip: Skip activewear, socks, denim, bras and jewellery. Less is more when it comes to your perfect tan day ensemble.
5. Plan Your Beauty Schedule Wisely
Book all other beauty services — facials, waxing, massages, manicures — before your tanning session. These treatments post-tan will disrupt your Glo and reduce its longevity.
Hair styling and makeup are fine after your post-tan rinse.
6. Shave or Wax 24 Hours Prior
To avoid irritation and ensure even colour, complete any shaving or waxing at least a day ahead. Freshly shaved skin may absorb excess solution and cause dark spots.
After-Tan Perfection
Let the magic happen post-glow with these essential care tips.
1. Wait Before You Rinse
Allow 2–8 hours for your tan to develop before rinsing (your therapist will advise). When ready, rinse with warm water only — no soap, no scrubs. Gently glide your hands over your skin in circular motions.
Pat dry. Don’t rub.
2. Avoid Moisture for 4 Hours Post-Tan
Keep your skin dry and free from water, sweat, and products for at least four hours. This ensures even absorption and avoids streaking.
Luxury Rain Day Tip: Bring an umbrella and wear loose, covered clothing. Opt for long sleeves, track pants and closed footwear if the forecast isn’t on your side.
3. Loose Clothing is Key
Tight fabrics can disturb your tan before it’s set. Lounge in your robe, floaty dress or oversized tee until your first rinse.
At home? A plush dark robe is the ultimate post-tan essential.
4. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Moisturise morning and evening with a luxurious, oil-free moisturiser to lock in your glow and nourish your skin. Avoid anything with oils, parabens, alcohol or synthetic fragrance.

5. Skip the Heat
Hot showers, steam rooms and saunas will fade your tan faster. Keep it lukewarm and gentle to keep your glow going strong.
6. Avoid Harsh Chemicals & Exfoliants
Until it’s time for your next tan, for best longevity avoid chlorine, chemical peels, acid-based skincare and scrubs.
Ready for your next Glow? Exfoliate thoroughly and repeat your luxe prep ritual for radiant, streak-free skin.
Pro Tip: Don’t spray perfume directly onto your skin — spritz over clothes to avoid tan fade.
